Is It Ok To Use Reusable Nappies Overnight?

Every mother and father who considers making a move to night time reusable nappies is searching for a solution that offers leak-free nights.

Cloth nappies are pretty straightforward when it comes to daytime use. They are similar to using disposable nappies; only you wash the nappy instead of throwing it away and sending it on a journey to a landfill.

When it comes to night time cloth nappies, the speed and level of absorbance become increasingly important. Different materials hold different properties, and with inserts absorbing liquids at different rates and having various capacities, this is crucial information to know when choosing the right over night reusable nappies for your baby.

The materials you will most often find in night time reusable nappies include:

  • Bamboo - Bamboo is a semi-synthetic fibre that has a high capacity but slow absorption
  • Hemp - Hemp is a natural fibre that has a high capacity but slow absorption
  • Cotton - Cotton is a natural fibre that has a low capacity but quick absorption
  • Microfibre - Microfibre is a synthetic fibre that has a low capacity but rapid absorption

Cloth Nappies With Maximum Absorbency

Our night time cloth nappies come with 2x4 layer inserts made from a microfibre and bamboo mix. This combination of materials delivers the most outstanding absorbance and volume combined with the quickest absorption rate, delivering the overnight security you need. The insert/booster approach is ideal for newborn babies through the period when you are still changing nappies during the night.

As your baby grows, you will want overnight reusable nappies that can last for up to twelve hours and handle the larger wees of growing toddlers. At this stage, you can double the capacity by using two liners. We provide two inserts with all our night time cloth nappies, giving you everything you need for your baby's journey towards full potty proficiency.

Remember, every baby is different, so you may want to experiment with one and two inserts. If one insert is soaked, then a second should be used. If you try two boosters and one is dry, then allow your baby to enjoy less bulk with just one liner. The position of the boosters can also play an important role. If your baby is a tummy sleeper, then you may want to place one insert at the front and one at the back.

The boosters are inserted into our cloth nappies, which are lined with super soft polar fleece to ensure the baby's comfort and protect your baby's sensitive skin. The waterproof outer layer is made from waterproof polyurethane laminated polyester (PUL), and this keeps wetness contained, without the need for a separate wrap.

Gives Your Baby Room To Move & Grow

Our night time reusable nappies are carefully designed to give your baby room to move and grow. The tummy band is comfortable and offers a generous fit. The double gusset keeps solids inside, and a clever popper system and hip snaps ensure nighttime security for babies between 3.5kg and 16kg.
